When I look at this picture I see a man sitting on the side of a building or a bench somewhere texting. It reminds me of me and how much I look at phone and am constantly on it. The word proud on his shirt makes me curious because I want to know what is he proud of. What made him put on that shirt that morning. When I look away I remember his white hair and beard and his sneakers.
I am drawn in by his statesmen/ten-yeared-professor face, and the size of his arms/body. Here, because PROUD is so visible, it definitely plays into the narrative. I am interested in how he is withdrawn from the environment via his phone, and yet posturing so aggressively in it (notice the man-spread....argggg).
